Keeping it active !!!
I've been starting a routine with Drew at Canada Games Pool working out every other day except today it a second executive day in a row because i missed like two days this Canada day. Yesterday i felt like i had trouble doing squats so i am doing it much slower and concentrating on my form. My achievement of that day was dead lifting 181 pounds !!! today while i'm typing out this post as fast as i can i'm planning on doing more squats, bench press, and rows. Rows i have the most trouble with in form so hopefully i get it right today and i will update on my next achievements.

Active life post 8.....(actually my first)
This past weekend i started a weight lifting program called 5 by 5 with a friend at Canada Games Pool. Since then i've been going every other day ( 3 sessions as of late ) and i can honestly say it feels great, since the program consists of adding 5lb the next time you work out. I started with just the bar to practice form, the hardest i've had with form is the squats but i'm starting to get the hang of it. The exercise i've felt most accomplished in is deadlift which i've lifted the most weight in, yesterday i was able to deadlift with 161lbs, which practically made my day. Since i've started i've felt musce soreness from muscles i didn't even no i had, but over one day i feel its a good pain and it's just my muscles getting stronger.
MMA Overall thoughts
My thoughts on going to columbia martial arts gym is that it was a great idea going there and everybody supported each other. I would like to continue going there is possible because i know i'm most likely wont be able to go there unless it's government funded for me.
MMA 1,2,and 3
The past three weeks at Columbia martial arts has been a spectacular experience, it reminded me when i went to judo a few years ago and it was a great for stress. What i learned in the first session was proper striking and form which was important to know if i ever encountered anything in real life. My favorite experience in that class was kicking the pads, which made me wonder if people made the pads to sound explosive to encourage the person practicing.
In the second session we reviewed the striking we did in the first class by pairing up and strapping pads to our arms and putting them in different positions to mix up strike combinations. Doing that was my favorite experience of the class because i realized how slow my reactions were. In the second half of that class we learned how to do a choke and also how to counter it.
On my third and most likely last session, the whole class was grappling which i thought was most satisfying experience out of all the three sessions put together, because at the end of the class the instructor Goldie had us do one on one matches in front of the class. My match was very exhausting but definitely the best part out of this whole experience.

Experience with Columbia Martial Arts
My experience with the class was very stress relieving , the instructor Goldie was very nice and encouraging and kind.I am seriously thinking on taking classes there or at least the free trial week.
Self Assesment
PE so far has been pretty fun , i have shown preparedness and willing to participate in practically all activities besides the warm up lap before we do sports ( hate those). The days i show my best effort is when a lot of people show up to class and all have an equally fun time. The days that have been a struggle for me are the days we stay in and do nothing, like sit in a computer class typing blogs. The way i contribute to the overall success of the class is to continue to support other classmates to encourage them when not feeling very skilled at whatever sport we're playing.I interact with all the students in class equally and friendly , at least i think i do.My participation in class has been pretty steady the timing of runs and record on exercises makes me push my self even more because there is no other feeling like beating past records. The activities i enjoy the most are just passing the ball with a few people and see how far we can throw it, also our class has just begun playing ultimate frisbee which looks promising.I am accomplishing my goals slowly but surely, my house no longer has any other drink besides water, and i am soon to begin a weight lifting program a fellow blogger has introduced to me.What leadership means to me is a person that can uplift other people into participating and encouraging each other. The leaders in my class are pretty hard to choose because we all encourage each other which is a good advantage to pushing myself to beating my goals.I would like to improve my running and endurance skills so i can do things with ease later on in life. The things i'm most proud of in Pe class is being able to hit the soft ball almost every time, felt good seeing the ball fly and gave me a bit of confidence.I haven't been updating my blog weekly due to internet connection issues but i'm planning to do so soon :) . I have been trying my best to achieve my goals for me doing small things and achieving them is the start of something bigger. I will be viewing way more blog soon so i can support other people in completing their goals. Finally i believe my grade should be a B i think i would have been able to achieve and A if it weren't for attendance issues.

Goal 05/28/13
my goal is to go to the gym 3 days a week and being able to run a lap under a 1 minute and 50 seconds . My plan for doing so is by creating a simple routine i can live by every morning and it can hopefully become my daily morning ritual, that can be a life habit. By then end date of July 15th.

Views on Food Matters Part 2
One of the tips told in the film I can definitely
implement in my lifestyle is drink large amounts of water when I wake up the
morning and eat more raw vegetables , it’s the easiest things I can do every
day, it doesn’t cost me time or energy like cooking which actually makes
vegetables less nutrient. One concrete Idea I can implement in my community, is
instead of running to your doctor for every problem, why not try looking at
your diet first where the root of the problem may lay. You can avoid having to
take pills having to run tests on your body by just taking a glimpse at your
nutritional intake. The scenes that impacted me the most are the before and
after pictures of cancer patients and just going on a raw vegetable high
nutrient diet and how massive the changes are. It made my whole class question themselves “why
isn’t everyone doing this?”
Views on Food Matters Part 1
Today
in PE we were watching the documentary film call Food Matters, which explained
to us how much a simple raw vegetable diet can help way more than a various
amounts of prescribed medicine. During and after viewing my classmates and I were
very shocked at the information that the movie presented. It made me think of
changing diet plans and for my life style because it benefits my food budget,
help me avoid various diseases, and will contribute to a weight loss plan. My
attitude towards diseases slightly I always thought to get rid of diseases you
had to either just down a few pills or be stuck with it for life. The film
helped me realize that you can help cure diseases or avoid it all together and
the answer to it can easily find it in your local organic grocer.
